Need to detect removal of USB device as quickly as possible when it is pulled rather than unmounted but running up against issues between 18.04 desktop and server editions both running 4.18.0-25-generic kernel. On the desktop version, removal detection is instant but on the server version the following message is displayed four times: WebCheck your cables: 90% of such issues are caused by bad cables. Switching for another tested working cable will solve the issue. Check your connectors: This is a common issue on old computers or worn-out sockets with loose connection. Try to wiggle USB cables a bit and see if anything changes. Don't overdo it as USB connectors are easy to break.

But assuming everything internal that could possibly use USB bus is working then try all the external ports too. If nothing fails then it's a false positive and can be ignored.
