Cura pause at layer not working

First of all: don't use "Filament Change" for Ultimaker 2 (or newer) printers. It uses gcode M600 which is simply ignored by the printer. Use "Pause at height" instead (and mind the comments for "Extrude Amount").

I've attached a modified version that corrects that problem and adds a choice between height (in mm) or layer number.

It doesn’t move out of the way, it doesn’t retract any amount of filament and it keeps the temperature set for printing, no matter what I put in the post-processing script. With the method griffin (default setting when opening the dialog the first time) you couldn't even tell if the script was doing anything since no movement commands are executed. The print simply continued without any interruptions since the pause command is the only thing that would have had an effect.
WebMar 27, 2024 · Yes, PauseAtHeight doesn't work well if you select "at height" but should work as expected when "by Layer" is selected. The "gcode flavor" determines what Cura uses as the actual pause command. For my Ender with Marlin firmware "M0" works. For other printers it might be M25 or M226, or M1. It all depends on the firmware.

Cura will not allow itself or the plugin to crash into a part and it appears you want it to go where plastic has already been placed.
