WebFeb 16, 2015 · Short answer: unmounting the disk, running chkdsk -f on it, and mounting back again solves and prevents the issue from reoccurring. As an alternative, creating a new disk (remember we're on AWS) and copying all data to the new disk ( rsync -a was my command of choice) and using it to replace the original disk also solves & prevents.
