Webb18 juni 2024 · I have a roof leak that is showing up by the right rear passenger door (in the headliner), and at the rear gate on both sides. I have replaced the rear gate seal, pulled off the roof rack hardware and resealed those screws with silicone, and attempted to get a glass shop to reseal the rear windows, but they'll only do replacements. My roof rack was leaking because of a missing screw in the very front rail section. FOr good measure I tightened all of the roof screws. Until I get new screw I used sealant to keep the water out.
WebbOnly way to fix it was to remove the sun roof from the car, clean all the old sealant from the rim, apply new windscreen/sunroof type silicone to the sunroof rim and re-fix. If you remove the inner trim of the sunroof you can access the 10mm bolts which clamp it to the roof. Posted on Oct 26, 2008.
